How does a filter press work?
A filter press works by the slurry being pumped into the machine so that the solids are evenly distributed throughout the fill cycle. The solids build up on the filter cloth, forming a cake; the filtrate flows out of the filter plate through the corner opening into the manifold, producing clean filtered water.
A filter press is a method of pressure filtration. As the pressure from the filter press feed pump increases, solids build up in the chamber until the chamber is completely filled with solids. This forms the filter cake. When the filter plates are full, the cake is released and the cycle is complete. Dark flow filtration, there is a liquid outlet channel hole under each filter plate, the liquid outlet holes of several filter plates are connected to form a liquid outlet channel, and the liquid is discharged from the pipeline connected to the liquid outlet hole under the thrust plate.
Washing method: When the filter cake needs to be washed, sometimes there is one-way washing and two-way washing, dark flow one-way washing and two-way washing.
Once the filtration process is complete, the filter press is opened and the solid cake is removed. The filter cloth can be cleaned and the filter plates adjusted for the next cycle. Proper maintenance and operation of the filter press is essential to ensure continued performance, minimize downtime and achieve optimum filtration results.
